I found a creature on my new piece of live rock and not sure what it is or if it's safe to have in my tank with the others?

If thats a new rock, take that monster looking crab rock outta there and throw it in a pail of boiling water.

What type of tank is this? To kill something without knowing exactly what it is is just plain ignorant. I would get a positive I.D. and then decide what to do. People go out of their way to purchase crabs and other inverts for their tanks. At first glance it appears to be a mithrax crab (not unlike emerald crabs), which are welcome in many reef tanks.
