Live rock question

I'm having a problem with my angel fish! I've been getting into corals more, some he nips and some he doesn't. I just purchased a nice size toadstool yesterday. It opened up relatively fast which I was happy bc I've heard it can take awhile. Shortly after that it was lights out. When I came home from work today it looked terrible and I even caught him nipping at it. I've tried in the past to remove him with many different methods including the soda bottle trick. No luck! I'm set on removing rock from tank and netting him. Can my live rock be effected by removing it from my tank?? Solutions?
