The live rock instructions that came with my live rock from Liverocks.com say to add Seachem Reef Iodide every odd day. I've read that it is very easy to overdose a tank with iodine, and that it is toxic at higher levels. Since I don't have any corals as yet, do I really need to add this stuff to my tank? I've also read that if you do regular water changes, you don't need to dose iodine. What's the scoop?

By doing regular water changes you should have no issues at all with iodine. You shouldn't add anything to your tank with out testing for it anyway. It would be really easy to overdose on your iodine. My suggestion is just do your normal water changes and take it from there.
