Live sand and Diatoms...

I recently switched out my Carib Sea sand for Tropic Eden Live sand Mini Flakes. The package said it contains no phosphates or Silicates. 1 week into in BOOM diatoms. Even though the package says it has no silicates in it will diatoms still form? And the Pistol shrimp continues to cause small sand storms. In time the filter should filter out these small particles right till there are no more in the sand? Sorry if I sound like a noob. I am using R/O water.
