Stupid me bought a beautiful longnose filefish two days ago. I mentionned to the salesperson that I thought they were hard to keep. He assured me they were 'fine'! As I checked my fish book, I am now sad as I realized I have a fish that should have been left in the wild.
1. Do anyone know if aquariums take fish donations?
2. He is hungry and had a few bites of frozen shrimp ... but I don't want to now kill the corals to keep him alive.
3. Any thoughts on who I shoud give him to so he survives.

I don't want to return him to the store as I believe he will starve to death.

Thanks, Linds.

Take it back to the LFS, it's a tough call by if the store has to take a lost he will think twice about ordering that fish again. This will then go back to the suppliers and end up in less being harvested from the wild.
PS: welcome to AA ;)

I agree with TC. Force the store to give you store credit at a minimum. They need to learn not to buy everything that comes in. Some animals are best left in the wild.
