Low calcium

What effect will a low (300ppm) level of calcium have on a tank containing fish, live rock, and anemones?

Thanks Jamie

For that stock, likely no impact at all. Calcium is key for reef building, however keep the ionic balance with alkalinity in mind. If you calcium is low and your alkalinity is low you could set yourself up for low PH. Granted most anemones can handle 7.8ish PH just fine, but its just something to keep an eye on just so a problem doesn't creep up on you.

Here's to swimmin with bowlegged women.

-105G SPS Reef with 30G Sump/Fuge Combo
-30G LTAnemonarium with mated porcelain crabs, 10 sexy shrimp, and 2 pink skunks all tied into the other 135G in my system.

If you have any crustaceans or gastropods, low Ca can actually reduce their life span and/or kill them. Even though you may not have scleractinians, you should still try to maintain a reasonable balance in your chem.
