Low, moderate, High lighting?

When corals are reffered to as low, moderate, and high lighting, exactly how many watts per gallon are required for each one. Also some questions about the amount and position of powerheads for water flow.
 
I think I've read low is <3wpg, 3-5 is moderate, and 5+ is high.

I've just added my first set of PC lights, in addition to the 64w "pet store" hood. Hoping I'll see a big difference in coralline algae growth of the next few weeks.
 
More important then the watts/gal is the type of lighting. 150 watts of MH lighting is much stronger then 150 watts of CF lighting. Pair the type of lighting up with the corals/inverts you would like to keep. I consider 3-5watts as low, 5-7 as moderate and 7+ as high.
