I’m wondering if there is a chemical additive to add to the water for LR? Something to sort of speed up and/or encourage the growth that is on it. Thanks

No there really isn't As long as all your levels are normal Everything will grow the speed that It is meant to grow.. One way to "Jump" start coralline is you can shut off your skimmer and scrape some of the coralline off a rock into the water.. After About an hour turn back on the skimmer.. It doesn't help much but will help slightly.. Make sure your CA Alk and MG levels are all in check and your Coralline should take off nicely..

If you have anything in the tank consuming CA...I have always experienced better coraline growth while using kalkwasser for CA and ALK supplamentation.
