macro ?

Are you refering to macro algae? I'm sure someone here can give you the nitty-gritty technical version of it, but I think of it as larger, multicellular plant life. Such as caulerpa, chaetomorpha, mermaid's hair, etc.
 
I was looking at some photos of mushrooms and the captions pointed to the mouth of the shrooms and it said macros. I am not sure what they meant.
 
In pictures it probably means a macro picture, which is a very very close shot.. Zoomed in real close... Most digitals have a macro mode for close pictures..

so its just a term used in picture taking.. very very close shot of the shroons mouth. JMO..
