macroalgae

hello all, i have 2 questions about macroalgae. what is the best way to prune it and what do i need to do in order to prevent it from going sexual.

Mine has never gone sexual in my refugium. I do keep the lights on 24/7. As far as pruning, I "pinch" off branches. I did have some go sexual in my seahorse tank. It gives you warning it is going to do so by going very pale. I was unaware of this at the time...lesson learned.
