There is a tiny shrimp(I think it's a shrimp)in my tank, scurrying around, looks like he just hatched or something. If it's a mantis shrimp I guess it'll die during the cycle right? I only have my 11lbs of lr my deadrock is supposed to be in today.. the lr I got from the lfs..

Mantis shrimp are very hardy, if it is a mantis I'm sure it will survive the cycle.

I dont think mine is a Matis shrimp, I could be wrong. Mine was all red, maybe a pistol shrimp. DOes anyone have a clear pic of a pistol shrimp?

If you're still cycling and it's a mantis - get it out while you still can.

Trust me, I've been there.

If you want it, keep it in a second tank, but don't listen to the people who will come on here and tell you that it will "probably" do no harm.

Lightning "probably" won't strike me, but my chances are a lot higher if I'm hugging the only tree in the field at the time.
