What would be a good size tank for the species I want, Gonodactylellus Viridis... I don't want to over kill on something that's about 2" long. I want the shrimp to be comfortable, but I don't want to get a massive tank like a 30gallon. Also am I supposed to mod the hob filter it seems like it would start to collect salt inside of the filter.

I suggest a 10 gallon. The HOB must be designed for a SW system.
