Mating Pairs

How could i, or can i at all, make a mated pair of diamond gobies. i am getting a diamond goby next week, and i'm curious, that if i wanted to later on, make a mated pair out of one.

Do I just add another, smaller one and just let it work itself out, or do I have to set up another tank and do all this stuff that I don't want to have to do? Diamond gobies are known to be calm and unaggresive, but will they be temperamental if I add another one?
