Maximum number of fish for 75 gallon reef tank?????

My question is the aproximate maximum number of fish for a 75 gallon reef tank --- at present in tank 60 lbs. of live rock , 2 emerald crabs , 12 snails , 3 peppermint shrimp, 5 green or blue chromis, 2 percula clowns. ,and 1 small yellow tang. So 8 fish at present--and I would like to stay with smaller fish 1 to 4 inch fish.{ I know the yellow tang might get larger!!} The local fish store suggested 12 as an aproximate limit. Any thoughts ?????!!

i don't think u can go by the number of fish but the size and feeding habits of fish. You have to worry about each one's bioload. Personally i would stay with what u have, or only go with one more small fish, because the tang is gonna get bigger and you definitely don't wanna have too many fish, cause soon you'll have no fish.
