Millepora Acro HAIRY!!!

What is this. the one in the front...(not the stylo) It is very hairy. If I were to guess id say hairy millepora... you let me know what it is. Anyways from where it was growing on the top where it shoots out to camera right... algae started growing right off the top part. I picked it off and now its back. I am getting a media reactor from Bulk Reef Supply so I will be running GFO and carbon. Nitrates are low. I know its phosphates. I am just wondering what I should do. #1 Can I cut the top of it off
#2 should I wait and see what the media reactor does
