i just got a gallon of this stuff and was wondering if you have to rinse it off first before putting it in my fuge? i put some in last night (about 2") and there is all kinds of foam covering the top of the water. Should i do a water change on my HOB fuge after i get done putting it in? TIA

P.S. What is a good amount of mud to put into my fuge? i was thinking 3" and i heard that from a friend also.

I think 1" coverage is enough. You shouldn't have to rinse the mud, but when I put mine in, it made a mess as well. just skim the surface off, and use some filterfloss to catch any float debris/particles if necessary.

Good idea! I just got an idea with that info. Is there a filter that you can stuff into the outlet part of a HOB fuge to help stop the big stuff without cutting off the supply of pods??
