Hi all

I've had my tank up and running for around 5 months after upgrading to a 60g(uk) with 2 sumps under my DT with my equipment and LSB and chaeto_Over the last 2 months I've been getting mould on the inside of my stand due to the sumps,I guess its just the warm moisture generated by the sumps. Is there any way i can stop this, would a fan built in to the stand keeping a good airflow help?
Any idea's would be gratefull

David

I think putting a lid on the sumps would just slow the process. It will still be how and damp in the stand even with a lid. It might cut down on the moisture a little but i suspect it will just cause the mold to grow a little more slowly. A fan will help to keep air circulation in there and fix the problem.

Ok thanks for your help,I think I may put a 3/4 lid on it just in case its spashes from the sump causing the problem,if this doesn't help I'll fit a fan.
