Moving an attached feather duster

Is it possible to remove a feather duster from a piece of rock that it is attached to or will it hurt the worm in the move? TIA..........

If you can see the entire tube, it can be easily plucked off. If the tube is cocealed, the worm will only retreat beyond reach.

I would be very careful not to damage the tube. If you can get it off without damaging the tube fine but if not I would leave it there.
