I've got some mushrooms that have always been on the top of my rock structure. I'm planning on making some curved arches out of rubble rock to build the structure a little higher. My tank is 30" high and the structure isn't as tall as I'd like it to fill the space. So, I moved my mushrooms to the bottom. Given my 4" sandbed and the fact that I'm running the tank 1 - 1 1/2" low, the mushrooms are now about 25" away from my 4x65w PCs.

How can I tell if the mushrooms are getting enough light? Will they brown? Lose color? Should I move them down the tank gradually?

Thanks.

Shrooms are low light anyway. They should be fine. I have the opposite problem since upgrading my lighting.

Should be fine. As long as they open back up in a couple of days I would not worry. I have shrooms in top, middle and bottom of my tank and all are doing fine.
