Mud in the fuge?

Im almost ready to start my 20 gal project and I was wondering whast to put in the fuge. I was looking at the GARF "grunge lite" mud for the caulerpa (spelling?) to grow with possibly 1-2" of really fine sand underneath that in the lower oxygen zone to help in denitrification. This look good? Any suggestions?

not familar with the mud, but Live Sand and lots of Live rock with some caulerpa is a favorite among people that I know.

(I dont have a fuge yet, but this is what I would include.)
