mushroom coral

we got a mushroom coral the other day, and i didn't come on a piece of rock, just the mushroom. When we got it home, i thought i setting it down the right way, but it wouldn't hold on to the rock. I put it on the bottom of the rock, but it flipped over. Maybe had i put it down wrong? I was looking for basic information on this type of coral, but i coudn't really find what i'm looling for. I noticed that on one flat side, there was these little tenticle things comming form the center. Is this the side that is supposed to face down, or up? Such a silly question, but I really need to know

you will need to attach it to a rock or it will just float around the tank till it gets stuck in the lr by itself.
I had luck with a toothpick through the shroon and then sticking the Tp into a hole in the LR where I want it.
From what i can tell your right.

Or you can hold the mushroom down with wedding veil and the mushroom should attach over time.

I use wedding veil for 2 weeks, then remove.
