Update: WITH PICS!

I got all the equipment pretty much done. I'll wait to get a skimmer for Christmas or something. All that I want to do is figure out a mechanical filter. (mainly just water polishing) but anyway, everything I have is up and working. Except the light, I want to go to this lighting store next week to find new bulbs. (50 bucks at the LFS isn't in my budget.. lol)

I think the previous owner replaced two of the bulbs so I'll see which ones look the best and leave those in along with the new actinic's.

I'm planning to get the skimmer for christmas or something. I'll just see how it goes. (I don't even have LR yet xD)

And the tank is full as I'm writing this. I've been leak testing the entire setup since probably two days ago. So far only one small leak but I'll fix it. The catfish keep trying to get into the cabinet.. I'm not quite sure how to keep them out lol.

What is it the plumbing? When do you plan on getting the LR? You could go the long way with dry rock, it's much cheaper and will eventually become live.

Yea, where the bulkhead meets the PVC. I need to go to HD and buy a union so I can glue it for real xD. I guess silicone and PVC don't work too well.. But it's like an extremely slow drip so I may just let it "fix" itself. I don't plan to buy a ton of actual LR. The LFS I went to sells baserock for 1.99/lb and they seem to have alot so I'll look into that later. First I want to get the aragonite sand. Just don't have the money .

Would getting like 60lbs of baserock and maybe 10lbs of live be good? I plan to also get maybe 5lbs for the sump.

Thanks! I plan to get my live rock locally only because I want to see what I'm getting. Base rock I may buy online because I'm not too picky about that. The light is a Coralife PC light, I don't know the model but it has 4 65W bulbs and when they are both on its pretty :censor: bright!

Like I said, I plan to switch out two of the daylight bulbs for either 50/50's or full actinics.

Yea I'm just gonna get dry aragonite sand. I'm still debating where to get it.

So far, Petsmart and the LFS have same price. (+/- like 5 cents..) I'm going for maybe 60lbs.. I don't want a DSB so it's really just for looks I guess.
