I think thats the first I've seen on a salt water tank. Im surprised the powerheads don't suck the sand right through. I wonder if it will prevent life in the sand like pods and stuff?

I siliconed mesh net over the grids to prevent the sand from sucking through but dont know if it would stop things growing in the sand lol
