Nassarius snails?

If got a few Nassarius snails would they move around the sand bed and eat algae or do they only eat meat. Am I correct that they bury themselves in the substrate and kinda churn it around.

No. If algae wants to take hold, nassurius snails will not stop it. They are good for stirring up the sandbend over time to free gases and allow nutrients to help suspend and also eat uneaten food scraps but thats all they do.
