Need a New Protein Skimmer

After what happened this morning I am in need of a new protein skimmer. I have to have one that will get the job done while taking up a very small amount of space or I could get a HOB.

My tank is a 42 gallon hexagonal tank, and my sump is a 75gal with about 8inches x 11inches of room in it. In that space I've got a mini-jet 404 and a mag-drive model 7. There is a UV sterilizer hanging from the side, but I doubt that'll be an issue.

Any suggestions? Anything to avoid?

A 75 gal sump under a 42 gal tank? With a 75 gal tank you should be able to fit most any skimmer and a small litter of puppies.

It's FOR a 75 gallon tank. I'm not really sure how much water the sump itself holds. If I had to guess, I'd say it'd hold 10-12 gallons of water if you filled it to the brim.

OIC, that makes more sense, I was wondering why the sump was larger than the tank.
