I have had my tanked setup for almost 6 months now and I am still wondering what this brown stuff is? I am running RO water also Phosguard to help algae... does anyone have any pointers?

Looks like algae.
Have you tested your PO4? Phosguard is a good product, but you need to find the source. Something has to be feeding it.

Hmm...Could be your lights causing this problem with the RO I would think it would take it out though.
