Yea that's a bit high for your setup. I would aim for 300-600 gph, depending on how much flow you want through your sump. I have a Mag 3 on mine (350 gph) and it seems to be workin just fine. If I was gonna buy a new pump I would probably get a danner 5 (500 gph) though. That would probably be perfect IMO.

I'm using the Eheim universal pumps on my 29 and 20 gallon tanks at work and I Like them a lot. For this build they didn't have one that has a good water flow so I am going to try the Sicce tyrant 2.0 568 gph. I ordered it today and while I am waiting to get that I will glue my panel back in again.

Sounds good. Eheims are very reliable pump can can be a little pricey. Don't much much about Sicce but I've heard good things.

I'll let you know how the Sicce pump works out.

Ok sorry about those typos, that's this "advanced spell check" on my "smart phone". Lol

No I understand about the typos. My phone does the same thing. I'm now in the habit of checking everything before I send it.

Anyhow I didn't get a chance to try out the Sicce pump yet. I have two many projects going on at once. I hope to work on it this weekend.

I picked up two acropora frags to go in my new 40 gallon tank. A Brambleberry acro and a toxic mofia acro. I have them in my 20 gallon at work right now. Once I am finished cycling the 40 gallon I will move to them into the 40.
I am excited that this is the first two across that didn't die on me. I have learned that you have to acclimate them to the light.
