New 55 gal reef ready

I just bought a 55 gal reef ready tank and I'm doing the sump now, and I just wanted to know when the water goes back into the the DT is there supposed to be a lot of flow on the top or a nice flow.

I have a 55g and i am using a magdrive 3 which is 350gph at 4 ft its like 270gph i have a loc-line system with flared heads to cause turbulence on the surface for oxygen and gas exchange

Sorry I'm new to this what is loc line? Because my return is just enough to cause some ripple in the middle area and then the far end barely

Ok now I see what it is, I have that exact same thing but with a y so it has two flared heads and it just cascades out it doesnt move much

Thats the same way i have mine set up. What pump are using for return?

It's an aqua euro 600 gph but it doesn't seem to be pumping that

Have you cleaned it? Whats the head rate?

It's new not even used, and what do you mean by head rate?

Depending on high it pumps depends on what its pumping. My magdrive pumps 350gph but at 4ft its only rated at like 270gph

And how does the water out of the heads come out?
