New anemone

Picking up a rose bubble tip anemone tomorrow for $40. I know the guy that has it and he has had it for a while. I have a current usa 4x54 with new ati bulbs. My tank has been set up for just under a year. I just cant pass up this deal and my clowns look lonely. I have many friends with bta’s under 4 bulb fixtures. Any advice for me as far as keeping it happy? How should I acclimate it?

Take your time with acclimation at least a hour Both of mine I just added a little water at a time until container was full then got rid of half of the water and started over and did this about 3 times

Will the fact that I don’t have a skimmer cause more problems for me?

A skimmer is not needed as long as you keep up with water changes but one can not hurt you either

Yea, I should have one. I just always spend my skimmer money on livestock lol

Yeah a yellow tang is always much prettier than a skimmer is LOL

New anemone is in the tank along with some green button polyps, and green duncan. Anemone looks good, it is gradually opening. Color is awesome... Paid $60 for everything

They do that. Funny enough, but you can put a picture of a clown in an anemone and they will host it from seeing it in the pic. It works. Sounds crazy but it does. Eventually they will find it but the pic thing works. Google it. People do it.

It is hard to believe but are your clowns captive bred? If so, they have never seen a nem much less know to host. But, if they see it, then they tend to go to it.

I've read that if your clowns won't host it to get a pond basket and put the clown in it with the anemone... it seemed to work for most... some said that they have to be in there for around a month
