I have slowly been building a coral reef in a 55 gal. So far I have soft coral no hard coral, the soft coral growing quick and well but now that I have quite a bit of coral I know its a matter of time be for I run into a problem. What do I need to expect or do to maintain healthy coral growth? What does coral exactly need. I have read up on coral but would like to hear from someone with experiance. Ty for your responses.

Softies aren't really tough. As long as you have appropriate lighting (t5, led, mh, pc, cfl) and good water quality they will thrive. Once you get into lps and sps is when you need to start monitoring Calcium, magnesium and alkalinity closely.
