New bulbs?

I've had my t5 10000 bulbs for about 8 months and I've been getting a brown dusting on the sand through the day but at night it goes away. Is this a light issue could it be the water. Its an aquatic life light t5 setup.

I guess it could be the lighting but then it might not. What are your water parameters? Are you using Tap water? (could be silicates)

T5's should last 9-12 months. How long do you leave them on. If its more than 8hours a day then its probably the bulbs.

I use a pur water filter. Never had problems before but thinking about it, I just replaced my filter after my last water change so maybe the filter was bad?

before buying new bulbs just yet I would test phosphates and nitrates, I usually replace mine at 10 months
