new fish stratagy

im looking at getting a new fish and im trying to figure out the best way to quarantine it. should i just put it in the qt and watch it or take a more proactive approach using medications and the like?

No need to medicate fish unneccessarily, especially since some meds have no affect on certain problems. If kept for a proper 4 week period in the QT any problems will become evident. If the need arises, then determine the best treatment needed.
