IMO, he already got 40# of live rock plus a skimmer and Canister Filter. how much more filtration does he need? In order for him to start a reef he is going to need decent lighting and that's the only thing he is missing now.

How about this. Buy some base rock(dead rock) because it's cheaper than live rock. The live rock will seed the base rock turning it into live rock. get the lights with the money left over.

Where would you buy base rock? Maybe that is the way I should go.

I took the carbon out of the canister so its really just a big powerhead now that adds an additional gallon and a half or so of water to my system.

I am thinking I might just go with more LR. My coraline growth is good, and I want my aquascaping pretty much taken care of before i go adding more fish or corals...

more suggestions are very welcome!

Software:2 Tank-Raised Ocellaris Clowns, 1 Purple Firefish, 1 Electric Orange hermit crab, 18 Blue Legged hermit crabs, 8 or so Nassarius snails, Xenia, Blue, green, and Green Striped Mushrooms.
