New skimmer

So I got a new skimmer and its doing a great job of pulling crap out of the tank but for some reason I know have a film on the top of my water colum.

Any idea why?

Its not over flowing so I am not sure whats up

How much surface aggitation are you getting? You probably need more turbulent water at the surface. Which skimmer did you get? That should also help pull it out of the water.

It`s called a protien sheen. As mentioned above a good surface aggitation will take care of it.
