My nitrates are at 40ppm can any one tell me why? My tank is 13 months old and I do water changes every 2 weeks. Can Anenomes cause high nitrates?

Welcome to AA!
Nitrates can get high for many reasons.
What size tank is it and what kind of filtration do you have?
Do you have a protein skimmer?
Do you use RO/DI water for top offs and water changes?
What fish do you have, what do you feed them and how often do you feed them?
An anemone alone won't cause high nitrates. Do you try to feed it and if so, what do you use?

High Nitrates

Its a 29gal Bio-Cube w/a built in protien skimmer. yes I only use RO water from my LFS. I feed my anenome silver side twice a week and I feed my 2 clown and my bangi cardnal frozen brine every other day.

High Nitrates

I have some mostly soft coral that I feed frozen coral food once a week also.

can you upload a picture of your biocube? it could be food is getting caught in your rock work. Do you have a clean up crew of crabs and snails? They eat un eaten food and fish poop that turns into nitrates.

I would stop feeding the nems and corals. Nems are fine with just strong lighting. This is adding alot of nutrients to your system that aren't needed.
