No more cyano!

At the start of the week I left the state to go get some training for my job. I was worried about leaving my four month old marine tank alone for this time when I could not check on it. Befor leaving town I added eight more pounds of cured LR before leaving the tank and also had a new skimmer running. I have been dealing with cyano for a while as well, and never could quite get it to go away. I figured the new LR would release a bunch of nutrients into the water and just make it worse. When I walked into the fish room after getting home, all of the cyano in my tank was GONE! I can only attribute this to the skimmer I added to the tank, since the collection cup has a lot of nasty dark gunk in it

I fed the tank before I left so it is not an issue with too much food. Since it is just clean up crew in the tank, I toss in some ground up flakes or a bit of frozen food once a week at the most.

Likely not water movement either. The new rocks made the water current in the tank worse. I want to do a closed loop SCWD after Xmas.

I am going to take a picture of what the skimmer pulled out of the water once my camera batteries charge.
