I just removed bio ball in wet/dry sump .now water falls straight down nothing to break the fall.sounds like a waterfall .should I remove the plate that has a bunch of little holes on it that is just under the flex tube?and attach a peice of pvc to run from the end of the flex tube and run it a couple of inches under water in bottom of sump?or is there a better way?

I would extend the plumbing so it dumps the water out below the sumps water level. THis will also help aid in lowring the bubble production.

Just as FF said, when I went medialess, I took the top and everything out and just stuck the hose down in the sump. It is just below the water level and is much quieter. The trick to getting it quiet is, re plumb with pvc which I plan on doing soon...I hear it cuts down on the gurgling...
