I have these things everywhere i am pretty sure reefrunner id'd it as nonphotosynthetic mushrooms.....thing is they are spreading like crazy and i got stung by one last night and my finger is a little sore and swoolen....so the question is should i try to kill them and keep them under control....if it can hurt me i would hate to see what it could do to a fish or another coral.

TIA

If they are multiplying to plague proportions, I would probably thin them out. One thing to note, if you have encountered pain and swelling on your finger (a very tough skin part of your body), you may have some sensitivity to mematocysts. You should wear shoulder length plastic gloves while working in the tank. Allergic reactions have a tendency to get worse or go away the more you are exposed, there usually isn't a middle ground, IME.

wow thanks for the heads up ill definately be purchasing some gloves now.

do you think they would be killed in the same method as aiptasias?
