I slept at my girlfriends house last night. The ONE night I leave my fish, my pump in my biocube slips, the hose falls. And shoots water at the top of the tank. Water finds its way through the back crack on the top. It then went down the top, into the fan vents and filled the whole thing up with water. What do i do? Do I order a new hood or go with a hoodless light fixture? Also I have a few thousand $ of coral in the tank. It's the weekend nd Monday is a holiday

Dry it out and see if you can make it work.

If that doesn't work then hit your lfs and buy whatever will work. Hoodless would probably be your best bet.

Everything shouldn't die from a day or two without light....

It wasn't the lights. The water was hitting a wire and my whole tank got zapped. My live rocks turned whiter. Looks dusty. All my corals got roasted. But I'm keeping my acan and brain in there to see if they can come back. Also my cleaner shrimp has black ribs now. Weird.

open current through a tnak wont hurt the coral/fish.. id still attempt to save them. the dustiness is prob just from a lack of o2 and flow, and id imagine the temp fluctuated...causing the coloration change in the shrimp.

My corals got destroyed. Had a candycane. Turned into a rock. A plate coral. Went completely white. Galaxy coral looks like this now. And my gsp is toast. Along with tons of others.

Sniper, even the galaxy coral? It used to have purple "skin" between each head. Now it's just skeleton

I think if I saved corals from 2 weeks no light and super cold temps during sandy, you have a good chance to get thing back to normal especially if this was a 2 day thing . Good luck

Is this acan dead ? It used to be nice looking and now it looks sad. Here's the before/after pics

It usually looks a lot worse. But it's not flowy like it was. The only reason I didn't chuck it out is because it was my first coral.
