I found my peppermint shrimp dead (not a molt) on the bottom of the tank recently. Now I cannot find my skunk cleaner shrimp. Haven't seen him in a couple of days, and I've looked in his usual hiding places.

If as I suspect the second shrimp has gone to the big aquarium in the sky, I am wondering who might be a fault. I doubt it's my clown. There are about 7 tiny blue-leg hermits in there too. I haven't added any LR for 8 months.

The only thing that might explain this is that I started seeing fresh conic piles of sand in the tank. Someone said those could be peanut worms. Could they kill a shrimp?

Thanks for the tip reefrunner, but I don't know what's going on. :?

I just tested the tank. NH3, NO2 both zero. NO3, somewhere around 10. pH somewhere near 8, all done with Tetratest Laborett kit.

Any other ideas? Maybe a killer in the tank that's been dormant for 8 months?
