When I purchased this piece it was neon green and "purple". Its been about 4 months and now it's neon green and red. Is it normal for them to change color?

Well I would say that it has to do with the lighting of the tank it came from vs the lighting in your tank.

IME, it is normal. Most corals, and even fish, I have added to my tank look different from how they looked at the LFS. The type of lighting and age/temp of the bulbs makes a huge difference in the coloration of your animals. Your brain looks very healthy to me...don't sweat it.

My open brain changed colors as well. Like the others said, I think it's quite common for all corals (and some fish) to change colors based on their environment. Yours indeed looks really very healthy so I would not worry. :)

I agree that he does look good. Just because he might be darker or lighter than others does not mean anything. I think he looks great.
