Whats up guys? I was wondering about how long it takes orange shoulder tangs to change to there adult color? I've had one now for about 5 months in a 125 long and he's like 5 or 6 inches long. He's not yellow anymore but not adult color either...kinda solid green with black spot where the orange should start. I've been feeding dried green seaweed and formula two w/selcon. Thanks for any feedback!! :D

Now Im confused...I just saw a post from a guy named Sango that had a pic of a fish he called Tennitti tang. I've never heard of this tang but it looks like a mirror image of mine that was sold as an ''Orange shoulder tang''. Now Im wondering if I even have one.

two completely different fish..

the orange shoulder tang is also known as an olivaceous tang

the tennenti is a completely different fish

sometimes lfs get away with selling the orange shoulder as a mimic tang, similar resemblence

from looking at your pic the fish looks more like a tennenti than the orange shoulder, you can tell by the markings

Stripes that is sango's tang in the pic shemp posted. I remember it from a earlier post. You are correct. It is a tennenti.

Yeah my tang made it to Hollywood! He is light blue in color and at night he turns almost black. He is a great fish to watch.

LOL!! ......Dumb LFS  I asked the guy if he could get me an orange shoulder tang and he said sure, check back with me next tuesday. So I went back and he had this tennenti that he told me was an ''orange shoulder'' in the middle of changing from juvenile color...guess I got ripped!

Yeah, He also changes color alot like black to light blue to green...depending on what he's doing like eating ect. he is a cool fish ..I'd almost hate to take him back theres just alot of other fish I'd rather keep. He gets along good with my yellow tang, Im thinking I might run in to problems if I take him back and add another tang....what do you think?

If it was me I would keep him. They are a little harder to find then an orange shoulder. You really dont see too many of these guys.
