Out of sump Protein Skimmer?

Is there a such thing as a protein skimmer that is NOT in sump and is NOT hang on back? I don't have room behind the aquarium, nor in my sump for a sufficient skimmer and would like to plumb it in line en-route to the sump or after the sump. Is this possible, or are there any "stand alone" devices out there that can be used for this purpose?

Oh by the way, I was looking into the CSS 125... would this meet my needs?

Looks pretty decent to me, but I have no experience with it, so you may want to look around for reviews.

The coralife super skimmers suck IMO, almost as bad as the seaclone. Skimmers are one thing you DO NOT want to skimp on.
