Ozone.

Hi all, is ozone = O3? Hmm O3 is also oxygen right? Why oxygen have the ability to kill parasites?

Oxygen is just O. Ozone is basicly three oxygen atoms combined.

Ozone can be benifical to an aquarium and at the same time it can be very damaging if used inproperly.

Ozone is o3, and oxone is oxygen... and ozone will kill people too... not just parasites... If you are going to go that route, make sure you do your homework first!

heheheh schellenberg it might kill you if ya had a huge o3 gen and breathed the stuff straight for awhile !! all aquarium models wouldnt do any harm to you or your pets !! i use it and love it for so many reasons !! and hands down over uv !! but mantis unless your risky like me than i i would use and orp controller and do some reading !! i havnt had any probs but i under dose to be safe !!

Is Ozonizer the ozone you all are talking about? Wow it does cost a bump!! BTW is dosing ozone as simple as switching on an air pump? Or we have to draw water out and goes back to the sump/tank like UV did? Will it weaken silicon that glued my tank?

yes ! yea might cost a bit but if ya buy the right one ya never have to buy bulbs for it dosing ozone ya must use it with a skimmer !! air pump to ozone to skimmer !! it wont harm silicon that i know of or have heard but will wear away rubber items !! have to use an ozone safe skimmer
