Palani causing probs

My palani tang, is diggin large pits all over my tank. He will rest on the sand and then suddenly shake like crazy and make a nice hole in my Live sand bed. Hes covering some of the LR completely. Is this some type of spring behavior? Making a nest or something. Any ideas? Hes really casuing problems since yo udon't want the Sand bed distured in such a way.

Maybe he thinks he's a clown fish?

Never heard of it before, although the shimmering and shaking behavoir I've seen in Nasos, just usually mid water.
