Percula Clown and Long Tentacle Anemone

I just bought a Long Tentacle Anemone the other day. I would like to know, how long does it take for the Clown to host the LTA?

Yep, just because their is a nem does not mean he will host. It may be instant but it also may take awhile or never happen.

You should have researched that and known the risk before buying.

There are a few things you can try to entice the clown to host it. Some people have put up pictures of clowns hosting nems, some have put them nem and clown in a small water volume such as a large bowl big enough for the nem and clown which tries to get the clown to pay more attention to it. Another option would be to by another clown in hopes he will host instantly and the other clown will follow suit by pairing the clowns. Buying a clown that is hosting a nem in the fish store is your best bet but still not always fool proof. Tank raised clowns have never seen a nem in their life, wild caught clowns on the other hand have, and have a high success rate hosting nems in our tanks.

Hope some of that info helps maybe.

One thing? Are fish that smart to see a picture and try to mimic it? LOL

I have a friend that placed the clown and nem in a in take refugium/QT kind of set up. They hosted pretty quickly, then were moved back into the tank.

Just an idea
