ph problems...ughh

i have a 2 month old reef set up with only a clown fish in there now and for the 2 months it was cycling and going on its own my PH was perfect very day without question but now i added a AC50 filter in there just a few days ago because of recommendation from the reef specialist at my local store (i was hoping to go filterless) as soon as i put this thing in my ph hit the floor and went to 7.2 and im trying to get it back up to snuff and this ph rise powder he sold me isnt working ...... i was reading about proper air transfer and co2' levels could be affecting it....is it possible my versa glass top is making it rise because of poor air transfer ? or is it this filter? if it is the filter my only guess could be the carbon in some way affecting it.....but thats just a guess ... any help would be great

Btw the more air you have exposed the more gas exchange there is. If you have a glass top there is no way for the co2 to release at no oxygen to diffuse with your water. Glass tops also reflect alot of the light for your photosynthetic corals.
