phosphate problem - Aquarium Advice

well i checked my phosphate today after being out of town for 2 weeks and having my brother check baby my tank for me and its 1.0 and brown algae is covering the glass, not on the rocks or anything i do notice so nice collarine growing though

, so i was wondering is phosguard anygood for removing phosphate?

I wouldn't use Phosguard. I heard it leaches aluminum into your system.

I'm personally going to buy the 2 -Dr.'s brand called PhosPure. It's really cheap & I'm betting it's identical the more expensive PO4 removers such as:

Kent PowerPhos
Marc Weiss Phosphate+Silicate Magnet
Rowaphos

Rowaphos is great stuff!!! Worked like charm for me.

Ya steer clear of the Phosgaurd.

i would do a water change and vaccum the sand. Then if you want to add some filter media, it will help.

What type of corals do you have?

Your brother probably overfed.

I've only tried Rowaphos, but it works like a beauty!
