nice Biotoper.. to tell wich ones are photosynthetic I would just look for "fod - food sorce being = to sym - symbiotic algae nutrients"
some other topics being of intrest to me are in there.. seems like those old usenet documents could use some formating but the info. is great.. thanks..
now just if there was some zonal based reef modeling information out there that would be the BOMB.. LOL Im such a geek..

Mongabay http://fish.mongabay.com/ is my bible for FW. I haven't found anything even close to this online for biotope/zonal info on marine fish/inverts.

I did a look see on mongabay.com for marine animals by bio-tope or zone.. they had fish! but no coral and inverts by biotope (no zone of the reef informaiton on the fish either.. most likely more relevant to coral)

That data in Mongabay is all from Fishbase http://www.fishbase.org/search.php?lang=english. The biology data on preferred habitat is particularly interesting. But Fishbase doesn't have any aquarium-related info like Mongabay does for FW fish. Still a good resource though.
