phytoplankton rotifers

what is the concensus on phytoplankton rotifers? are they good? are they bad? are they a bunch of hokey? how much are they and where do i get them? are they worth the investment?
please advise.

hmmm, rotifers are not phytoplankton. Rotifers will direct feed the corals, but most will die and pollute the tank if added in large amounts, phytoplankton is algae cultures wich feed some inverts and your pods which will then help them grow and reproduce creating zooplankton which feeds the corals. So phyto tends to work indirectly. In either case, as with anything you supplament your tank with, be careful not to over do it.
